EXPERIENCE:
Emilio Payera is the senior partner of our firm, he leads the practice area of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, with extensive knowledge in Financial Services, Banking, Factoring, Leasing, Confirming, Structured Credits, Securities Markets, Fintec, Structuring of Commercial Papers, Bonds, Investment Funds. He currently represents large companies in various civil, arbitration and insolvency proceedings under Law 20.720.
He began his career in the General Treasury of the Republic, becoming Chief Attorney of the Territorial Taxes and Taxes Unit. Then he was Legal and Tax Manager of a financial services company supervised by the CMF in its litigation and corporate areas, arriving there with a stock of 5 million dollars approx. of placement and delivering his management with a stock of more than 110 million dollars approx. with openings in Peru (being closely linked to the Peruvian Factoring Association, APEFAC) and Colombia (linked to the Electronic Factoring Association of Colombia, ASOFACE). He was in charge of the registration as intermediary of Corfo and in the Securities Registry of the CMF.
For more than 9 years to date, he has been a member of the Electoral Justice of our country being Titular Minister of both the First and Second Electoral Tribunal of the Metropolitan Region, elected by the Excellency Tribunal Qualifier of Elections, composed of 4 Ministers of the Supreme Court and 1 Former President of the Senate or of the Chamber of Deputies.
He is Arbitrator Judge from 2017 to 2024 inclusive, appointed and incorporated to the Register of “Arbitrator Judges” prepared by the Court of Appeals of Santiago as well as in the jurisdiction of the Court of Appeals of San Miguel, resolving matters of conflicts of shareholders of Corporations, By Shares, Partitions and conflicts of a maritime nature. He is also a member of the body of arbitrators of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism in real estate leasing conflicts.
He is a lawyer and litigation representative for large national and international companies, in the areas of banking, cooperatives, financial services, petrochemicals, education, health and clinics, among others.
He was a member of the Legal Committee of the National Chamber of Commerce (CNC) and is currently a member of the Chilean Association of Factoring Companies (EFA), member of the Chilean Bar Association and Director of TMA CHILE (Turnround Management Association), an organization established in 1988 in Chicago, USA, with almost 10,000 members in 54 chapters around the world, considered the largest in the world. Members include restructuring professionals, lawyers, accountants, advisors, liquidators, consultants, as well as academics.

EXPERIENCE:
Cristián is Counsel to our firm mainly in the areas of Criminal Law, Compliance and Public Law, his extensive experience as an academic, in the public and judicial world positions him as a lawyer and counselor highly specialized in complex matters.
He was Minister of the Constitutional Court of Chile in the period 2015-2024; also Deputy of the Republic of Chile in the legislative period 2010-2014; former Director of the Official Gazette of Chile; General Secretary of Universidad Santo Tomás between 1999 and 2004; Legal Advisor of the National Mining Society in the years 1994 and 1999; and General Secretary of Universidad Católica del Norte between the years 1983 and 1990. In addition, he has practiced law in criminal law matters between 2005 and 2009.
Author of the books “Compliance para el Sector Público” (2025) and “Compliance en las Empresas del Estado” (2023) and of several publications on matters of law, highlighting: “Los Jueces y los procesos paralelos” (2023), el nombramiento de los jueces en Chile” (2024), “El Control de Constitucionalidad en una sociedad libre” (2017), and “Acceso a la Justicia Constitucional”, he is the author of several publications in the Revista Chilena de Derecho of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Ius Publicum magazine of the Universidad Santo Tomás, among other publications in national and foreign specialized magazines.
He has been a professor of Civil Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Finis Terrae, Las Américas and Santo Tomás Universities.

EXPERIENCE:
Christian is Advisor to our office in the areas of Economics, Finance, Innovation, Fintech, Management Control and Processes, he is also an Academic at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile, particularly in the Department of Management Control and Information Systems (DCS). He is an expert in Strategic Planning and Control Systems, as well as a consultant for several companies.
Between 2011 and 2013, he served as director of the DCS. Currently, he is the director of the Center for Innovation for Development of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. He constantly participates as a referee of several international journals of Economics and Business, being part of the scientific committee of at least five. Currently, he is the editor in charge of the Accounting and Systems Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile. Visiting professor at several universities around the world (San José State University, USA; Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain; Panamerican Business School, Guatemala; Universidad de Piura and PUCP, Peru).
In the professional field, he has provided advisory services to public and private organizations. National and multilateral public organizations include IDB, CORFO, PDI, Fundación Integra, Municipalities, among others; and among the private ones, Compañía Minera Lomas Bayas, Compañía Minera El Soldado, COLUN, Oriencoop, Ferriko, Hidrolatina, among many others.
